Reason for Investigation Request

TCPS was contacted by the owner of this property to come investigate some of the recent activity that had been going on in her home for the past year. On several different occasions the television has been turned on by its self. The same shows would be on every time – football. The previous occupant who died in the home used to gamble and would sell football board numbers. The deceased passed on from natural causes at the age of 50 and was not found for a few days. The previous occupant's daughter now lives there with a room mate and four children. The new occupant and her grandmother (previous occupant's mother) went in the house to clean out his room, where he was found dead, and they said when they came in the TV was off and they went straight up stairs to clean. Upon returning down stairs to leave, they got to the landing and noticed the TV on and it was on football. A carpet cleaner was in the house one day and had the same experience. The television was off and something made the carpet cleaner turn around. Once he did, he noticed the TV was turned on and a football game was playing.

The current owner has lived in the property for approximately one year. The owner has reported the smell of blood in the living room. Occupants of the house have also heard footsteps up and down the stairs as well as in the upstairs area. The six year old daughter has reported speaking to the deceased Grandfather on multiple occasions. There has been reported seeing a full apparition of a young girl in the basement and a shadow person as well.

Research and Background on the Property

We did not uncover a lot of information regarding the history of this particular house. The only info we know is the current owner’s Father lived on the property for 15 years prior to his death. This death is the only known death that occurred within the house.

Six of our members participated in this investigation. We covered every section of the house: main floor, upstairs bedrooms, and the basement as well as the garage. The atmosphere felt calm and peaceful in the house throughout the duration of the investigation. Our team had a few personal experiences. There were multiple camera malfunctions in the basement and upstairs in the bedroom where the previous owner had died. Cold spots were also noted in the same areas, but temperature changes were not picked up by our IR thermometers. Another member saw a light anomaly in the same bedroom upstairs as well. While in the garage, one of our investigators stated the area felt heavy. She also said at one point, the garage went from a typical garage smell to a smell like that of an old man.

Final Analysis

The main reason the owner of the house contacted us was because she wanted to know if her Father is causing the activity within the property. At this time we do not believe this house is haunted. We do, however, feel the owner’s Father may “check in” on his family from time to time because the daughter has not moved on with her life since his death. We reassured the owner this is often a normal occurrence when a spirit believes the loved ones left behind are still grieving and activity will more than likely cease once the spirit knows the family has accepted the death and can continue on with their lives. TCPS will continue to check up on the owner and her family during this process, as the owner knows we are more than willing to come back if the activity increases over time.
