Research and Background on the Property
The building which houses the Dodge County Historical Society Museum was originally built as a church in 1869. The St. John’s Episcopal Church was built in accordance to a donation in a will left by Sara Anna Ruth, the wife of Rev. Peter Ruth. Mrs. Ruth died in 1866 and her body was interred in the church in 1871. Years later, the church was turned over to the Dodge County Old Settlers Assoc. for use as a Historical Museum. The Museum houses many artifacts, papers, and photographs reflecting the rich history of Dodge County.

Our teams experienced high EMF spikes on multiple occasions in the basement of the Museum. There are a lot of artifacts down there so it was hard to debunk the spikes as you could not tell where the wiring and panels were all located. It seemed to be the consensus that possible electrical currents could be the cause of such EMF spikes.
Upstairs one team did experience odd EMF spikes near a dress that was displayed in the main room. Their EMF meter seemed to beep in response to questions about the dress. No source for the EMF readings could be found by this team.
Final Analysis
The teams which investigated this location did not have any personal experiences. Because of time constraints, we were not able to spend a great deal of time at the Museum. We did, however, capture an EVP from this location. It is possible that with so many artifacts and old memorabilia within the building that a spirit could be attached to an object. We do not have enough evidence at this time to say the Dodge County Historical Society Museum is indeed haunted, but would enjoy another chance to investigate this location more at another time.
